FFBoosta for efficient posting (FriendFeed)
I just updated my FriendFeed-Productivity-Client FFBoosta.
Added functionality to publish new text-messages directly to FriendFeed. I hope I can use this to replace my Twitter-usage, which is too slowly updated at FriendFeed.
UPDATE: At the first start of FFBoosta, you are asked for Account-Informations. After you have done that, you need to refresh the feed. Menu: Feed->Refresh. Keyboard: R.

I downloaded and setup the application by entering username and remote key, but it won’t retrieve anything from ff - the main window just remains empty. Are there any necessaty steps that I might have missed?

Yes. You need to tell FFBoosta to refresh. Press R.

hmm that is weird. do you have growl ? on most problems a growl message is created, instead of traditional messages.
if you dont have growl, your problem might be a hint that ffboosta is not working without growl^^. in this case i will fix it of course.

I have the exact same issue. I put in my remote API key and username and just close the window. My FF account is never accessed.
Shouldn’t there be some type of submit button on the Remote API key dialog?
Never the less, quit the application and came back and still nothing.
How about an IRC channel or something. Email sucks.

To be honest, I have no idea why this is happening.
So lets try to find more information on that problem.
After entering your informations in the preferences window and refreshing the feed, the “Console” should contain a line “Init with YOURUSERNAME:YOURREMOTEKEY”. Is this line in the console ?
After quiting FFBoosta there is an XML-File ~/Library/Application Support/FFBoosta/database.xml.
There should be right on the top a line: FFBoosta user=”YOURUSERNAME” remote=”YOURREMOTEKEY”
is this one there too ?

I just tried the suggestion you posted above, and I can report that my username and remote key appear in both locations. However, this also shows up in the Console:

thanks a lot. that is a weird problem, as your growl-installation seems to have not globally registered the growl command. anyway, that should only cause the growl messages not to be shown.
I have a friend who is now experiencing the same problems. so tomorrow I can try to find out whats happening.
For the moment I have created a new version, which makes absolutely sure, growl is not causig trouble, and all growl messages are getting forwarded to the console.
@Cecily: if you could be so kind, try the current version and tell me again what your console says :)

I thought I was using the current version - I downloaded the software just today. The console now says this:
